Katherine “Katie” McGarry-Noack

Katie McGarry-Noack was at a breakfast meeting in the WTC on the morning of Sept 11, 2001, too high up to be able to get to safety.  Her last known act was a pager message to her husband.  But Katie was a person who would have wanted to be remembered & loved because of her life, not for how she died.  I believe that she would say she lived a full life in a short period of time.  She came from a large family which is where I’m sure she learned to be the “people person” that she was known to be.  I picture lots of love & laughter in the home as she was growing up – her smile reflects a person very happy with her life.  She had a knack for turning “strangers into acquaintances & acquaintances into friends.”  What a special gift that is!  She & Bradley had been married for 6 months & she was 6 weeks into a new job – I can imagine that, in her mind, life was just about perfect right then.   I think that’s what she would want us to remember – even though her life was cut short, it was full of happiness & love – love that she freely shared & love that I know lives on in the memories of her friends & family.  I pray that those memories continue to bring you comfort & peace – it has been an honor getting to know Katie in a small way!
